There’s nothing better than new custom cabinets for your kitchen, bath, office, or any other room in the home. Our quality cabinets are built to last, using skilled craftsmanship and machine technology to design and construct beautiful cabinets for any home or business. We are very proud of the work that we do, and there are very few limits to what we can create for our clients. Unfortunately, we haven’t yet figured a way to design self-cleaning custom cabinets. When it comes to taking care of your cabinets, there’s still only one way to go – clean them!

Maintaining custom cabinets in Kansas

Wipe down your cabinetry regularly with mild soap and warm water.

Cleaning and maintaining your cabinets

The best way to ensure that they stay shiny and new (or matte and new, if you’ve chosen matte colors and surface texture) is to maintain them regularly. If you don’t let dirt, dust, and cobwebs build up for too long, all you’re really going to need is a soft cloth, warm water, and a little bit of soap. Liquid hand soap should do the trick; you won’t need tougher cleaning materials if you regularly wipe down your cabinets.

Remember to also wipe down the top of your cabinets. It’s an easy spot to overlook, or to ignore, because you can’t see how much dust has collected up there, but in a kitchen especially, wipe off all dust so that it doesn’t soak up grease and moisture from your cooking and become a sticky, pasty mess that’s hard to clean.

Avoid harsh cleaning products

Harsh cleaners with bleach or ammonia can damage the surface and the finish of your cabinets, so unless your pasta sauce exploded and you let it sit and dry and stain your cabinets, all stains, dirt, and dust should be gently removed with gentle cleaning products.

Remember to wipe down the top of your cabinets.

For that extra clean shine, get a wood polish to use every now and them to give the front of your cabinets that new glow.

Wipe off all moisture after cleaning

Once you’ve cleaned your cabinets, take a dry cloth and wipe off all moisture. Moisture left on the surface of your cabinets can cause stains and discoloration.
